From side-tie to thigh-high
This season, many designers played with different heights to decorate our feet and legs: side-tie boots, ankle boots, tall boots, ... there's no limit in this year's creativity to style up our outfits. Anyway, for this winter, fashion artists all over the world seem to have created what could be interpreted as the wearable representation of the contradictions of our time by letting inspiration come from the extremes. I am supposing that since the real protagonists the F/W 2009/2010 collections definitely were the short ankle boots and booties and the more courageous thigh high boots.
Most designers have chosen to create contrast by combining over-the-knees with short cut dresses or long tops that work as dresses, as in the collections by Rodarte (in the second picture) and Stella Mc Cartney, to give an example.
The shorter versions of booties and ankle boots (as the model by Louboutin in the picture) look amazing with almost anything, but I think they work best with short skirts, dresses and pants or skinnies.
Do you agree?
